Delivering American Energy Security
The PennEast Pipeline will not only provide a clean-burning energy source for local homes and business, but it will bolster American energy security.
Pipelines like PennEast that move American-made energy help to reduce our reliance on foreign sources of energy and unstable regions of the world.
Thanks to America’s natural gas revolution, U.S. imports of natural gas have been falling since 2007. And in 2014 and 2015, natural gas imports were at levels not seen since the early to mid 1990s. As additional pipeline capacity like PennEast is built, the region and country will have greater access to abundant domestic natural gas. This will continue to reduce U.S. natural gas imports for at least the next 20 years.
And not only do pipelines deliver local natural gas thereby increasing energy security, they also fuel American-made products.
As American manufacturers leverage the benefits of low-cost natural gas, more American products plus declining natural gas imports is a win for our economy and a win for our trade deficit.
